The Sari Diaries- Sunday 7/19/15

Sunday, July 19 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

The first day of second session has been a good one…actually, a great one! From the bus early this morning all the way through bed time, it has been action packed and full of fun. Here are the details…

  1. After arriving at camp, eight weekers and second session campers all headed to their cabins to get settled and then down to the messhall patio to make candy sushi. Using rice crispy treats, fruit by the foots, and other candy, they made delicious snacks that looked just like sushi rolls.

  1. Once the buses arrived, we all went to the Center Fire Circle for the official announcement of second session cabins. Campers and staff cheered as they were called to the the center and cabin groups happily ran towards their cabins.

  1. We had a delicious spaghetti dinner followed by our Friendship Fire. It was a spirited and entertaining campfire that included “Walking,” a talking contest (won by Emily Connell) and a number of other camp songs. We ended with a Keylog Ceremony connecting #TheRanch2015 with all of the cities represented by our campers and staff.

  1. The night ended with lots of cabin bonding. As Soph-Aloaf and I walked through cabins tonight, we were super-impressed with everything that was going on. Blackfoot was soooooo cute as they all got ready for bed, Silverspurs was about to begin their food party and Lucky-X was kind enough to do our hair for us :). All throughout camp, campers were getting acclimated with their new cabinmates and counselors while also getting excited for an amazing day tomorrow!

So that’s the short version of all of the wonderfullness that went on today. Thanks for reading- be sure to check back every night for all of the highlights of our time at CRC!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
