The Sari Diaries- Monday 7/31/17

Sunday, July 30 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Week six is officially under way and camp is running on high energy. I probably sound like a broken record but the vibes are good- things are positive and campers are happy! Today was the first day of this sign-up period and already, great things are happening around camp. And now, onto the details of the day…

For those in the play, they spent the morning rehearsing in preparation for the big show on Wednesday night. They are all very excited and we know it is going to be an awesome performance! Aside from that, we had a full day of regular activities and the weather could not have been better. The waterfront was rocking- literally picture perfect- a day full of beauty and action on Dam Lake :). Pretty much, anywhere you turned around here, you would find great things happening with smiling campers and enthusiastic counselors!

After picnic lunch, we had Kahuna Day meetings where campers learned cheers for their team and signed up for their Kahuna Day activities. Some are excited about scavenger hunt and others about flag football but either way, there is definitely something for everybody on this spirited day! The teams this year are Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy…it should be awesome!

Tonight’s evening program is one of the most anticipated of the summer- Tan & White All Camp Capture the Flag! Dylan S was the all-star of the night…she got the flag across the center line TWICE! That is basically unheard of. Additionally, Hannah Cohen and Rebecca V brought the flag back to their team’s side. With a score of three to one, the Tans pulled off the victory!

And for now, that’s all. I am writing after a wonderful staff meeting that was full of appreciation of camp, the campers and the hard work our staff is putting in each day. We are all looking forward to an amazing day again tomorrow at #TheRanch2017. We will live each moment to the fullest and remember that every interaction matters. Okay, enough of that…there is still plenty of camping left! Thanks for reading- talk to you tomorrow!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
