Dearest Chippies,

I want to start this post off with a thank you. As some of you may know, last night’s campfire was a celebration of my 15 summers at CRC—a milestone that I do not take lightly, and one that is founded in personal growth, perspective and pride. I credit my time at camp for a lot of who I am today, and it was so humbling to have the opportunity to reflect on not only all that camp has given me, but also all that camp has allowed me to give back. Above all else, it was a night that made me feel incredibly fortunate and honored to call myself a Chippy Girl. So thank you to everyone who was a part of the celebration, to everyone who has been a part of my camp experience thus far, and to everyone who has allowed me to play a role in theirs. I am seriously one lucky girl.

As for today, it was an all-around amazing day. Weather-wise, it was perfect—one of those afternoons where it’s hot enough to make you excited to jump in the lake for swimming, but not hot enough where you’re miserable just standing still… you know what I mean? If not, you can just take my word for it. It was perfect. During activities, enthusiasm was at an all-time high (as is par for the course this summer). Reese S and Avery K both dropped a ski and Sadie G caught her 5th and a half fish (yes, you read that right). Oh yeah, and we had Goldfish for snack. Talk about a DAY.

Tonight we had Camper Capture the Flag, which is traditionally one of the most intense Tan & White games of the summer. Tonight was no exception, and both Tans and Whites showed up with determination, grit and speed. They were scoring points left and right, and the final score was 3-2. Shout out to Emma R, Eden S, Anna S, Sydney F, and Izzy S for scoring, and congratulations to the White Team on a victory well earned!

And there you have it. Another one for the books. I feel like I say this every week, but there really is too much good stuff that happens at this place. My Sari Diaries entries—even when they’re low in fluff and high in information—cannot possibly do justice to the memories being made, friendships being strengthened and accomplishments being met. This place really is so special, and I hope that that’s not lost on anyone who is lucky enough to spend their summers here.

Thanks for reading, see you all next week!

Sincerely,
Soph Aloaf
