The Sari Diaries- Wednesday8/5/15

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Today was an awesome day and I am thrilled to tell you about all of the fun and excitement I got to witness. Here are the highlights…

  1. I had a change of pace this morning and walked around during first, second and third period activities to check out the scene around camp. Campers were loving the ropes course, flying down the zipline, jumping on the tramps and were very excited that fish were swimming around the fishing docks. There were even Lakeview campers on horseback loving the Chippy trails around camp. The enthusiasm was high at every activity and I’m not sure if it was because of the weather or because we all know our time together at #TheRanch2015 is dwindling…but either way, I’m happy!

  1. The highlight of my day was without a doubt the BBQ tonight. I almost didn’t go because I had one too many snacks this afternoon, but I couldn’t be happier that I headed down to the messhall patio this evening. It all started like a normal BBQ- a plate of deliciousness in front of me, sitting at the picnic table, preparing to chow down and just taking it all in with James, Loren and Soph-Aloaf. Before we knew it, we had a table full of youngsters sitting with us and the entertainment began. Mia R, Coco C, Eden G and Julia A surrounded us and they legit could not contain their giggles. I got some good photos but the best was a video that captured the pure joy on the faces of everybody around the table. Part of the beauty of this place is that thirty year-olds and seven year-olds can dine together and laugh at pretty much nothing…and love every second of it.

  1. After dinner, we headed to the theater to watch the Chippewa production of “Legally Blonde.” There were campers who I have never seen on stage before that were amazing up there. We had Blackfoot through Lakeview campers acting together on stage and I was so impressed with the level of talent. I must say that this was one of the best shows I have seen at Chippyland in a long time. There were plenty of laughs to go around, as those that were performing added a bit of comedy into their theatrical performances. Overall, the entire camp enjoyed it, and the hard work and dedication of the directors and performers alike definitely paid off.

So that’s it for today! We are looking forward to another wonderful day tomorrow :). Thanks for reading and have a good night!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
