The Sari Diaries- Wednesday 8/3/16

Tuesday, August 02 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We had a full day of fun here at #TheRanch2016. The vibes around this place are definitely reflective of the short time we have left here…campers and staff are doing their best to take advantage of every second we have remaining! Here are the details from our busy Wednesday…

We enjoyed a day of regular activities and there were tons of campers excited about their achievements. Ellory F got up on skis for three seconds and was so happy! Julia A got around the lake on skis for the first time. A good day for the Horseshoe girls in skiing! At basketball, there was an intense game of knock-out going on, and in aerobics they were having a jump-rope competition. As I roamed camp, the energy was high…campers and staff were happy and enjoying all that CRC had to offer them today :).

After fifth period and before the BBQ, the Chippybats put on a ski show. Sydney M and Sarah D did a slalom weave, Ruby W wake boarded and Ally S did a pass on skis thanking the crowd for watching. I was lucky enough to be on the boat to get an up close view of all of their skills. These girls have been working hard all summer and it was very cool for them to show off for the entire camp!

The sailing team headed to Kawaga for their annual sailing regatta. The girls had a great time and came in second place in the race! It was a fun day for all and the team is officially feeling ready for the Chippewa regatta on Friday…it should be a good one!

This evening was amazing- Maya H told me it was the “greatest night of camp.” It all began with the Timberlane boys coming to watch the Chippewa production of Aladdin. It was awesome to see our talented campers up on stage…the dances and songs displayed on stage in the Little Theater were quite impressive!

After the play, both camps went to the South Field for a social with Monster Entertainment. There was a big dance party accompanied by the dunk tank and, of course, good food. Once the Timberlane boys left, we had a huge Chippewa dance party…everyone’s favorite! People were hardcore dancing and loving every second of it…Chippy girls live for moments like those!

And then there was tonight in the office- I got attacked by Rafter^X in their attempt to raid canteen. It was pretty cute and I loved the intensity with which they were searching for candy. As you can tell, it was an incredible day here. We are looking forward to Kahuna Day tomorrow…it’s going to be crazy! Okay, thanks for reading!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
