The Sari Diaries- Wednesday 6/29/16

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We have had an epic day here at #TheRanch2016 and I am excited to tell you all about it! From wake-up until bedtime, life around here has been action-packed…here are the details…

The morning began with a birthday wake-up for Sydney M followed by the famous Seven Wonders Quiz Show. This is a tradition that Cliff started last year and is quite popular among campers of all ages. It is a very serious trivia show that blasts over the sound system with Cliff as the host. There is a play-in question and those that make it past that round are quizzed with very interesting and unique questions. It has a similar feel to “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” with stakes almost as high. Campers can win a variety of prizes depending on how many questions they answer correctly. The game is seven rounds but it is single elimination, so if you get a question wrong, you are out. It is funny to listen to and a wonderful show to help wake us up.

Activities today went very well. Dylan S became a Chippy Bat this morning and she was thrilled. The entire camp was cheering for her and quite proud of this big accomplishment. In cooking, campers made pretzels…they were a hit…and quite tasty! From the tennis courts to trampball and out to the stables, activities were booming- goals were being achieved and fun was being had!

Both the trip to Crystal Lake (Silverspurs & Lucky-X) and Mackinac Island (Trailriders) returned today. Everyone had a blast on both trips. I got to talk with the Silverspurs/Lucky-X campers on their way back to camp and they couldn’t stop talking about the fun they had. Sammie K, Ashley R and Emma D couldn’t wait to get home (referring to camp). They told me that the lake on the trip was so much warmer than the lake at camp but they were still excited to get back to their activities this afternoon. It was so cute to listen to…it was clear that this trip was a positive cabin experience for the whole crew!

This evening we went to Kawaga for our first session social! It was a blast- siblings, cousins and friends enjoyed hanging out and sharing stories of the summer thus far. Everyone had a good time but I feel confident that our campers were ready for bed as soon as the buses pulled into the circle drive.

And there you have it- another incredible day at CRC. It might rain tomorrow but we are prepared with a rainy day program if that is the case. No matter what Mother Nature brings us, we are looking forward to lots of fun! Okay, thanks for reading…have a good night!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
