The Sari Diaries- Tuesday 7/25/17

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family, and Friends,

Today was a special and unique day at Chippewa for all campers and counselors. From the morning wake up call to dinner, the campers had a blast enjoying a regular day of activities with a twist…

Yesterday the four oldest cabins- Lakeview, Trailriders, C-C, and Bowed Legs- got to pick who they all wanted to be for “Camper Counselor Switch Day”. The day is dedicated to campers and counselors switching iconic outfits, daily jobs, and activities so a camper and their staff member look like each other. After many rounds of Horse ’n Goggle with the four cabins, the campers chose their desired staff members and were prepared for a day of fun and exciting jobs and activities.

Today Cliff, aka Jane F, woke the entire camp with a special wake up call that included the celebration of Aaliyah I’s birthday, followed by an amusing 7 Wonders Quiz. During the whole announcement Jane talked like Cliff and was even wearing one of his famous red Hawaiian shirts. While she was dressed as Cliff all day, he was dressed like her. Cliff ate at the Lakeview table for all the meals and Jane sat at the staff table. During lunch the male staff sacrificed “Cliff” and threw “him” in the lake.

Boo Boo G (Sara Moss), Rachel L (Eliza Levy), Campbell S (Sophie Stempel), Carly M (Katie Liguori) and Lily P (Nikki Richter) sailed on Dam Lake during fifth period and really embraced the camper life. Molly L (Sari) and Caroline H (James) enjoyed an awesome riding lesson given by Cara (Grace F), Katie (Landyn S) and Maddie K. They planned and implemented an amazing lesson!

There were many other cool things happening around camp today. Both campers and staff enjoyed the day and gained an appreciation for camp even deeper than they had before. Thanks for reading- have a great night!
