The Sari Diaries- Tuesday 7/22/14

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Today was another day that I felt lucky to be living in Chippyland for the summer. We had a blast, the weather was interesting (warm, cool, windy, sunny, humid and rainy), and overall, the day was excellent. Here are the details…

  1. All day today, we had our normal activities. During second period, I found myself wandering from activity to activity super impressed with all the action. One of the highlights was my trip to the South Field. Lily Pickus and her soccer class made up of Reese S, Lexi G and Simone C created a new game called Socball which is a combination of soccer and softball. The girls were really excited about it and are hoping to incorporate it into our last two weeks of activities. Other awesome things were happening all over camp and I loved observing, and participating in some of the fun.

  1. After lunch, the Chippy Bats (ski team) headed over to Kawaga to practice for the ski tournament which is next week. The girls enjoyed and were happy to prepare for the tournament. In the next two weeks, we have lots of intercamp competitions including this ski tournament, the Kawaga Regatta, the Nicolet soccer game, the Marimeta intercamp and the Chippewa Regatta. We are looking forward to all of this and our teams are working hard to prepare!

  1. This evening was Tan & White Sports Night. The Braves played steal the bacon, the Hunters played nucomb, the Warriors played basketball and the Chiefs played soccer. I loved to see all of the athletic talent that was displayed around camp tonight. The intensity was definitely there as both teams were doing all they could to get the “W.” The cutest part of the night (that I saw) was down on the volleyball courts. Josh Gascoyne was coaching the White team and Logan Hubbard was coaching the Tans. Both coaches were taking the game extremely seriously and giving fabulous advice to their teams. The campers were loving it and very into the game. Molly L was a superstar and was all over the court. The Tans ended up winning tonight, but both teams did a wonderful job!

And that’s our day from #CRC2014. Good things were happening from the morning into the night and we have lots of happy Chippies. Thanks for reading and have a great one!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
