The Sari Diaries- Tuesday 7/12/16

Monday, July 11 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Let me start by saying that this summer needs to slow down ASAP. It is crazy and a little bit sad to think that today was the last full day of regular activities for first session. There is, of course, plenty of camping left but as these final days of first session approach, it is time to make the most of every moment at #TheRanch2016.

While I was at first period tennis hitting with the Senior Tennis Team, I looked over at the aerobics court to see Avery K singing and dancing in an incredibly cute and goofy way. She was giggling with her friends and had no idea that a couple of us were watching her, and completely entertained by the pure joy she was expressing. As I walked around to other activities, I witnessed so many great things happening. At water skiing, kids were excited to get on the boats and attempt to get to the next level…I love seeing kids of all ages on the boats together cheering each other on. There is such a nice support system here within our campers and staff- I truly believe that everyone wants each other to succeed. I just love it!

After an amazing day of activities we had a new and incredible evening program called Battleship. Monica, the Program Director, along with a couple of other staff members have been working hard to make this an awesome event. Each cabin dressed up in a different color and met at the front lawn. When they arrived, they found a map for their cabin which had various locations around camp on it. They had to find the correct ten locations where the “ships” were so that they could sink them and win the game. There were a variety of activities cabins were required to do in order to sink the ship. It was a ton of fun and the entire camp was running around enthusiastically in order to help their cabin win the night.

And that was our day at the greatest place on Earth. Tomorrow should be another good one…I can’t wait! Thanks for reading- I hope you enjoyed!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
