The Sari Diaries- Tuesday 6/10/14

Tuesday, June 10 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

What a successful day this has been! Here are the highlights…

  1. This morning after breakfast, we had a very informative session led by Dina Lissner of Balance by Dina. She spoke about the effects of sugar as well as how we as a staff can keep up our energy levels and maintain a happy and healthy environment for the summer. It was very cool to hear what Dina presented and I think it is safe to say that the entire staff learned quite a bit.

  1. After the wellness session and before lunch, we had an awesome staff game of ultimate frisbee. There were loads of laughs, heaps of good team building and tons of impressive frisbee throwing.

  2. This afternoon, we focused on planning our daily activities. Each activity crew prepped their area and met with Abby (the Activities Director) to begin planning the first week. It was awesome to hear all of the new ideas that staff have to make our activities even better. The motivation among the staff is intense and it is clear that this group truly wants to make this the best summer ever!

  1. The evening concluded with our annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The staff was broken up into teams, and Duncan Kell created our very own bracket. Teams decided on a color, some even on a name and everyone showed up at the basketball courts bringing their “A-Game.” There are definitely varying levels of basketball talent in this group, but everyone really shined in their own way. Some people cheered, some people played soccer on the sidelines and some got VERY into the tournament itself. The winning team included Abby, Logan, Lindsay and Emily!

Needless to say, we are feeling very lucky to have such an incredible staff. This first full day of pre-camp has been amazing, and we are confident that this is a predictor for a fabulous Summer at #CRC2014.

Thanks for reading and good night!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
