Dearest Chippies,

Happiest of Thursdays!

Gonna get right to it tonight. Per usual, today was a good one at #TheRanch2016. Not even raindrops could keep us from having the time of our lives out here on County O. In fact, the rain actually provided an opportunity for us to run one of our favorite rainy day programs—Chippy Grammy’s! Here’s how it goes (it’s pretty simple): each cabin picks a song and creates a music video. Then, everyone gathers in the the theater to watch them, after which Grammy Awards are presented to each cabin based on category, such as “Best Pop Performance” and “Best Costumes.” The cabin of Silverspurs was the big winner of this year’s “Best Album” award for their outstanding performance to Cellphone by Drake. It was hilarious, cute, and very creative. Seriously though—my stomach hurt at the end of the video from laughing so much. Overall, it was a ton of fun and it was great to see how well each cabin worked together to create a video they were proud of.

We rounded out this day of fun with an even better evening program—GLOW (Glorious Ladies of Wrestling). For those of you who are not familiar with this, GLOW is basically the Chippy version of WWE (I know, we stole all of today’s programming from primetime television…) except more entertaining and more precisely choreographed. Camp-related duos (such as skiing vs. sailing and the blob vs. the splash mat) faced off against each other in a series of wrestling matches. Each round, cabins filled out brackets predicting the winners. I had the honor of challenging Sari to a dual (shoutout to the CITs for your creative input), and while she put up a decent fight, I did go ahead and bring home the W. I even made it to the final round, however, I ultimately succumbed to the mess hall tables and chairs, who really fought hard for their victory this evening.

Yes, actually. I do know what you’re all thinking: wow, that sounds amazing, I wish my day today was half as fun as that! And to that I will say this—while I’m not sure about a lot of things, I am certain that none of us Chippies are going to bed thinking today could have been more fun than it actually was. That being said, I personally am looking forward to a sunny day of regular activities tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in, see y’all in 7 short sleeps.

Sincerely,
Soph-Aloaf
