Dearest Chippies,

Soph-Aloaf here, back for week number five and better than ever. For those of you new to The Sari Diaries this session, I would like to take the next 30 words or so to introduce myself. This is my twelfth summer here at CRC and my job consists solely of informing you about what happens on Chippewa soil each and every Thursday. As for the other six days of the week, it’s still up in the air whether I’m working hard or hardly working… But either way, I love this place and I’m here at #TheRanch2015 to stay.

July 23rd, 2015 was a hot one, folks. Scorching, some might even say. A little heat, however, couldn’t melt our Chippy spirit, and as the sun beat down, regular activities were in full swing. This afternoon, we also had an intercamp against Marimeta. The junior and senior tennis, basketball, and soccer teams all represented Chippewa well, scoring goals and making baskets faster than the scorekeepers could keep track of. It was an impressive display of athletic talent and in the end us Chippies came out victorious in a majority of the matches.

Tonight, we had a social with Menominee. Siblings reunited, friends ate popcorn together, and everyone had a grand ‘ole time. And as if that weren’t enough excitement for one day, we then played Stalk the Lantern, a Tan and White game in which campers attempt to get to the center of a staff bullseye without getting caught. The Tans pulled out the win for this one, but as always it was a great effort by both Tans and Whites alike. As the day comes to a close, everyone’s sunscreen bottles are as empty as their eyelids are heavy. I don’t know if it’s possible to have too much fun in one day, but today is probably as close as you can get.

Today at CRC we also had the pleasure of welcoming nine lovely visitors. For both your entertainment as well as my own, I will now rank them in order of how much I like them:

  1. Martha Bissing
  2. Kelsey Boyle
  3. Kate Bradley
  4. Frankie Brown
  5. Sophie Roskin
  6. Rachel Ruderman
  7. Aynsley Stevenson
  8. Suzy Topel
  9. Julia Vigran

(Just to be clear, that was alphabetical order…)

And with that I bid you fine folks a fond farewell. As always, it has been a pleasure to share my Thursday evening with you all. Please tune in again next week for another rousing rendition of TSD.

Sincerely,
Soph-Aloaf
