The Sari Diaries- Sunday 8/10/14

Sunday, August 10 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

What a lovely day of Family Camp we have had! The weather was just perfect and the families are incredible campers. We had regular activities all day, and it was awesome. Campers young and old (though all young at heart) climbed the wall, went down the TrueBlue, tubed, skied, played tennis and more. I personally got in on a 4-on-4 basketball game with some Chippy staff and family campers. It was lots of fun, but very tiring!

Tonight was Pirate Night which is always a hit. Per usual, the male staff dressed up as pirates while the campers searched for flags and the buried treasure. The campers eventually followed the clues to find the treasure (Rolos) and the pirates all jumped into the lake. The evening ended with s’mores, and tonight’s special ingredient was Nutella…a very popular addition to the already delicious s’mores!

That’s about all from family camp, but I would also like to note that some of the C-C counselors were already missing each other, so they had cabin plans in Evanston today :). Please keep me posted on other Chippy reunions so I can share them with our camp community.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful evening!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
