The Sari Diaries- Saturday 7/5/14

Saturday, July 05 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It was another beautiful day in the Northwoods full of regular activities and other good fun! Here are the highlights…

  1. After a truly amazing day put on by Lakeview, the entire cabin enjoyed their very first “day-off.” They have been working so hard for the past couple of weeks to put on a fabulous program for the camp, and we were thrilled to have them take this day for themselves. They had breakfast in town, went to Rhinelander and ended the day at the Waters Resort for some awesome water-sliding. It was very well deserved and they had an awesome day!

  1. As previously mentioned, 4th of July weekend is an extremely popular time for visitors. We had a number of alumni visit and it was great to have them at camp. Kelsey Boyle, Hannah Epstein and Sophie Roskin, members of Lakeview 2009, arrived yesterday and hung out at camp today. Mallory Kirsch, member of Lakeview 2010, arrived on Thursday and went home today. Additonally, Stacy Ruderman and Julie Chaiken, members of Lakeview 2001, were here throughout the weekend. It felt like they had never left which is part of the magic that is being a member of the Chippewa community. We always love having Chippies return and it reminds us of the impressive friendships that are formed throughout the years at CRC.

  1. The theme of tonight’s campfire was “Be the Change You Wish to See in the World.” It was led by Sammie T who did a fantastic job. Additionally, the Chippy Choir led “One Tin Soldier” as the entire camp sang along. Abby Zemach began the creed, which is a huge honor given to a Ten Year girl each week. What made it extra special was that her parents were visiting and got to witness this important moment.

That’s about all for today. It was really a wonderful day at #CRC2014! Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to check back tomorrow to read all about Cabin Day :).

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
