The Sari Diaries- Saturday 7/28/18

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We had quite the lovely day here at CRC. While this past week has been a ton of fun, and we have loved all of the action and special programming, it was nice to have a regular day. Things felt a little bit relaxed, and campers were excited to get time at their normal activities. Here are the specifics of our day at #TheRanch2018:

Activities today were a huge success as campers passed levels in skiing, climbed the wall blindfolded and made tie dye shirts in arts and crafts. At archery, Maddie G, Caroline S and Annie M all earned Olympic Club status. I must say that all summer long, I have been impressed by our campers out at archery. They are setting goals, working hard and making great strides! Out at the stables, I had the opportunity to watch two of our advanced riders, Maddie K and Grace F, work on their jumping. I was amazed at their confidence and determination- these are two girls who are so clearly committed to succeeding in the riding arena.

At swimming, campers enjoyed free swim, and they took full advantage of the incredible weather we had this afternoon. Some were on the splashmat, the slide and the blob. Others were enjoying some time on the corkels or testing their log rolling skills on our log. It was the perfect camp scene with sailboats in the background, blue skies above and the sun shining down.

This evening we loaded the buses to head to Camp Kawaga. As always, the Kawaga boys were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed a great night of dancing and hanging out with family and friends. One of the coolest parts was seeing the huge eagle’s nest that is situated right above the basketball court that we were on…it was awesome!

Finally, one of the highlights of my day was spending some time with my parents. Each summer they are kind enough to make the trek to the north woods to hang out at camp for a day. It is so good to be with them, even if only for a short time…it helps me recharge and remember how much good is happening here. Because as they walk around CRC, they are always impressed with the happenings and the people. The friendliness, the positive energy and the activity is hard to ignore for people who aren’t constantly surrounded by it. And so, today, like every day before and likely every day after, I am incredibly proud to be a part of this community. I am elated that my parents got to share a day with me here again this summer and I am so appreciative of them…for so many things…one of them being their decision to send me to this magical place twenty six years ago :).
