The Sari Diaries- October 2014

Sunday, October 26 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It has been a wonderful month of October- time is flying by and it already seems like the summer of 2015 is right around the corner! Here are this month’s highlights…

  1. Things have been busy around the CRC offices. Cliff has been creating the absolute best reunion video ever (get excited) and I have been working on the yearly photobook. I am almost done, but am still looking for a cover photo. If you have any fantastic photos, please send them my way!

  1. In addition to preparing for the reunions, we have been helping to plan the Camp for All Kids Spring event. It is sure to be a ton of fun and an epic evening…we will be sure to send out all of the details as things get solidified and we have more information.

  2. As for Chippy sightings, there have been lots of them this month. Just this week, I took a trip down to Champaign with alumni, Kato Hinden. She is a college counselor at a high school and was excited to take a tour of U of I while also seeing a bunch of Chippies. We had lunch with Melissa Deutschman, Sophie Roskin, Hayley Marrinson, Sophie Leib, Rachel Feldman, Alexa Polinsky and Emily Block. It was so nice to catch up…it almost felt like we were all hanging out at camp! Aside from the exciting trip down south, I also got to have dinner with Luke Harris before left the country and Jake Schneider. It was fantastic to spend time with the two of them and it is awesome what a strong friendship they have forged after spending one summer on Dam Lake together :).

  3. Two weeks ago, we had the Chippewa Trolley in Chicago. It was another successful year of getting many Chippies together to have a good time. We had a solid crew…Lakeview 1997 all the way through Lakeview 2007 all had representation. James and Loren even made the trek from Madison! It was so good to see everyone and it was amazing how it felt like no time had passed. We created a chart that reminded us of funny camp memories including favorite evening programs, daily activities, camp meals and of course, male staff. The night was overall very Chippical!

  1. Tomorrow, Cliff and I head to Cincinnati for our annual reunion. We are very excited to see the Cincinnati Chippies and their families. We are also looking forward to meeting a number of prospects and are hoping to keep Cincinnati a growing Chippewa city. It should be fun!

I guess that’s about all for October. It was a wonderful month full of camp work, friends and fun. Thanks for reading…happy Halloween and don’t forget to check back in November!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
