The Sari Diaries- Friday 7/17/15

Friday, July 17 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It was wonderful to see so many of you this evening! After a day filled with packing and cabin bonding, we had our final first session campfire. Four week Lakeview campers gave speeches, reminiscing about camp memories and shedding the occasional tear. It was very sweet and actually crazy to think that these girls who have been at camp since they were seven and eight years old are already spending their last nights as campers at CRC.

At 7:03pm Chippy parents rolled into camp and ran to greet their campers. It was heartwarming to watch the embraces between family members after four weeks. The dance show was amazing and all of the hard work that was put in by our campers definitely paid off. While the campers put in a ton of time and effort, I want to acknowledge Sami Fabric, the Dance Show Director, who has dedicated an enormous amount of time and care into ensuring the success of the show. We so appreciate Sami’s commitment to camp and our dance program!

Everyone always looks forward to Jen’s Visiting Weekend desserts. Tonight the dessert display in the North Field was incredible! There was a tent set up with lights and tables full of goodies. Outside we had tables set up and a slide show of pictures from first session. It was an awesome new way to do desserts- campers, staff and families were all very happy!

We are looking forward to a fantastic day tomorrow filled with family activities and a delicious BBQ! We are so sad to see our first session campers depart tomorrow but are looking forward to the start of second session on Sunday. Okay- we will see most of you in the morning :).

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
