The Sari Diaries- Friday 7/1/16

Dearest Chippies,

I would like to begin by extending my sincerest apologies for my absence yesterday evening. While I am sure you were all beyond thrilled to see Dear Chippies, Parents, Families, and Friends… at the top of your computer screens, I’m not gonna lie—my Thursday night felt a little empty without TSD. That being said, I do feel as though Sari (perhaps unintentionally) captured some of my essence in last night’s post, and that was almost (almost) as good as being able to write for all of you myself.

Now onto the good stuff. As is on par with the days of #TheRanch2016 thus far, today was a good one. The sun was beaming down, activities were running smoothly—everyone was smiling ear to ear and having a grand ol’ time. Oh yeah, and we had Goldfish for snack today. Goldfish always make things just thaaaaaat much better, don’t you think?

While I do feel probably too much allegiance to the Thursday night post, I am glad to have the opportunity to share a Friday with all of you loyal readers. As many of you may know, tonight we had our classic Friday night campfire. Of course I love the chaos and energy that accompanies a majority of Chippy programming, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that campfires are my favorite evening activity. There is something special about gathering as a community after a few days of non-stop excitement, reflecting on the events of the past week and bringing back into perspective how fortunate we are to be able to spend our summers here. Tonight’s theme was especially relevant—it highlighted the importance of creating a culture of kindness, which is probably one of the most important things any of us Chippies can take away from our summers here at 8258 County O. I had the good fortune of giving a sermonette, and looking around the campfire as I (nervously… embarrassing, I know) spoke, I did feel an overwhelming sense of pride. Man are we lucky to call ourselves Chippy Girls.

So that’s about it for now. Thanks for tuning in for today’s updates. Don’t forget to keep up with the CRC haps over on Snapchat (crc8258) and I look forward to writing to you all once again in a couple of whiles.

Sincerely,
Soph-Aloaf
