The Sari Diaries- 6/14/15

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It is really starting to feel like camp around here! We had an awesome day with the new staff who arrived last night and they are all amazing. They have meshed right into the camp lifestyle and great friends are already being made. Throughout the day, we did a bit of staff bonding, gave tours of camp, discussed the Chippewa philosophy, talked about Chippy traditions and played lots of games. Here are the highlights!

This morning, we split up into groups for a friendly competition. Each team was supposed to try to build the most solid structure out of fifty marshmallows and fifty toothpicks. All the groups interpreted this in their own way…we had one group who created a map of Chippewa with their materials. Another group tried their hardest to make a horse and another team made a spaceship. You can see the winning group’s creation in the photo to the right. The staff had a ton of fun with this and we loved their creativity.

This afternoon, after a number of informative and interactive meetings, we played a huge game of ultimate frisbee. It was great to be outside and run around on this beautiful day.

After a great dinner (the food is better than ever), we all headed to the Main House to watch the 2014 reunion video. It was fun for the returners to reminisce about #CRC2014 and the video definitely helped the new staff get excited for all of the festivities to come. Once the movie was finished, we headed to the Center Fire Circle for a campfire and s’mores. It was a perfect way to end a busy day!

At this point, we are counting down the minutes until the remainder of the staff arrive tomorrow. We cannot wait to be reunited with the old-time Chippies and create bonds and memories between the entire staff group.

I think that’s about all of the fun for today- have a wonderful night and check back tomorrow for updates on another incredible day at #TheRanch2015.

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
