Staff Spotlight- November 2015

Sunday, November 29 by Sari Hirsch

The November Staff Spotlight features Becca Keidan! Becca is an incredible counselor who is loved by her campers, her age group and her co-counselors. She can always be found around camp (typically leading a group of campers) with a smile on her face. Regardless of the activity, Becca ensures the campers are having the time of their lives- they truly adore her. We love that Becca enjoys being a counselor just as much as we love having her as a part of our staff team! Read below to learn more about Becca…

How many summers have you been at camp?
Next year will be my eighth summer.

What cabin were you in during the summer of 2015?
Last year I was in Lucky-X.

What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
My favorite part about being a staff member was making new friends out of my age group whether it was my amazing co-counselors or my campers.

What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2015?
My favorite memory from last summer was as our Sunday activity we decided to take our campers swimming and we all went on the splash mat and we had so much fun! I don’t think any of us stopped laughing or smiling the entire time.

What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
My favorite camp memory ever was when I was sailing with my friends, Emily Shimanovsky and Rachel Rappaport, and it was extremely windy out. We turtled the boat probably five times and when we were coming in it was my job to hook the boat to the buoy. As I went to grab it, I flew off the boat, and Emily and Rachel kept going and hit the shore. I don’t think I have ever laughed harder.

What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2016?
I’m most excited to reunite with all my camp friends because they are the best friends anyone could ask for.

How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
My camp friends and I have a huge group chat and talk in it all the time. I also FaceTime them so we can fill each other in on our home lives.

What do you do when you are not at camp?
When I am not at camp, I am very involved with Special Gifts Theater. I help kids with special needs put on a play and I love it. I also am a mentor in Keshet and I run and pole vault for the DHS Track Team.

Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
I can’t wait for summer 2016!! I have a countdown on my phone and I can’t wait to reunite with my friends and campers and make so many more memories!!
