Sunday, March 15 by Sari Hirsch

The March Staff Spotlight features Elyssa F. Elyssa is going to be a CIT this summer and we cannot wait to have her on the staff. She has been a fantastic camper who is extremely enthusiastic and kind. As you will be able to tell from reading below, Elyssa loves CRC, and the feelings are mutual :). Thanks Elyssa for sharing these answers and photos with us!

How many summers have you been at camp?
This is going to be my seventh summer.

What cabin were you in during the summer of 2014?
Lakeview

What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
Because this will be my first summer as a counselor, I’m so excited to have my own campers!

What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2014?
Fourth of July is always the best day for me, but this past year it was one of the best because it was so fun to be able to plan the entire day with my cabin and share it with everyone.

What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
A few years ago on the last night of camp, my cabin all went to the South Field and looked up at the stars. We saw so many shooting stars that night. I saw one at 11:11 while surrounded by my favorite people. It felt so special and magical. I’ll never forget it.

What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2015?
It’s going to be to so fun to be able to share my camp experience with my future campers. I’m very excited to be a CIT so I can get the benefits of being a camper and counselor at the same time.

How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
Other than the girls that I go to HPHS with, I have a ton of group chats and Facebook groups that we talk in all the time. I’m so lucky to live by so many Chippies, so I go out to lunch and hang out with them pretty often.

What do you do when you are not at camp?
Basically just a lot of dance. I’m on Jammers at my school with a bunch of Chippies. All of my friends that don’t go to Chippewa know every one of my camp memories because I can’t stop talking about it when I’m at home.

Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
Never take camp for granted because it’s so unbelievably special and we are so lucky to have it be such a big part of our lives. It changes you into a better person and it will stay with us forever. And get excited for summer 2015 because it’s right around the corner!!
