Camper Spotlight- December 2016

Thursday, December 15 by Sari Hirsch

Alana S is featured in our December Camper Spotlight. Alana has been an awesome camper for the past five summers and it is incredible that she is already old enough to be in the cabin of Trailriders during the summer of 2017! Alana is an extremely kind and positive Chippy who is loved by the entire camp community. She is constantly having fun with the girls in her cabin and is enthusiastic about everything Chippewa. We love having Alana at camp each summer and are looking forward to many more with her! Read below to learn all about Alana’s camp experience!

What cabin were you in during the summer of 2016?
Bowed Legs

How many summers have you been at camp?
2017 will be my 6th summer at my favorite place.

What do you miss most about camp?
I love the unique activities you don’t get to do at home like sailing on Dam Lake and windsurfing.

What is your favorite memory from the summer of 2016?
After lip sync we all took our beach towels and we were laying on the beach in a circle- all chatting.

What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2017?
I can’t wait to combine in a cabin with my entire age group because it will be a different experience than all of my other summers of just being with some of the girls in my age group.

How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
We use social media group chats, text message group chats as well as making plans if someone is in town, having sleepovers and getting together.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Reading/L.A. and Spanish

What activities do you participate in during the year?
Theater, tennis and working at Sunday School

Is there anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
I am very grateful for my Chippewa family and I feel fortunate to have this special opportunity to go to camp. I am happy that Chippewa has guided me to make the right decisions in life and helped to create the person I have become.
