Sunday, December 06 by Sari Hirsch

Katie Bohmer is featured in the October/November edition of our Alumni Spotlight. Katie was an awesome camper turned counselor and we loved having her at camp. She was (and still is) spirited, kind and an all-around Chippy girl. The pictures below are from her years at camp (the cabin photo is from 1999) as well as a couple of her currently. Read below to learn more about her and her camp career…

What years were you at CRC?
1998 to 2007 (I skipped my Trailriders year)

Which summer was your favorite and why?
My Lakeview year was my absolute favorite. Our whole age group was so connected after all of our summers together and we knew we had to make the most of our last year as campers before becoming CITs.

What is your favorite camp memory?
One of my favorite memories was being the first runner for the Tans at the very start of Pony Express the year I was in Lucky Bar. Pony Express was always one of my favorite events and the excitement of kicking off the whole race was incredible.

What was your favorite activity at camp?
Sailing and rock climbing.

Were you a Tan or White?
Go Tans!!!

How do you keep in touch with your camp friends?
We mainly stay in touch through Facebook but I also get to see Chippies around the city. It is always such a fun surprise to bump into a friendly face when I least expect it!

Where do you live now?
Chicago- Wicker Park neighborhood.

What do you do?
I do marketing for a financial firm.

What do you miss most about camp?
I miss the nights around the campfire, singing songs and making s’mores!

Is there anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
My years at camp have helped make me who I am today and I couldn’t be happier about every summer spent in Eagle River.
